FAW held news release conference for its Hongqi H7 Limousine putting into the market at the National Stadium in Beijing on May 30. The Hongqi series H7 limousine, developed by FAW itself, is Chinese favorite home-grown car and high praised by leaders of Chinese government.

At conference, FAW released five H7 models with 3.0L and 2.0T engine at price range from 299,800 yuan to 479,800 yuan.

The first Hongqi was made in 1958 last century. As China's first home-grown limousine, cared by leaders of CPC and central government, embodied the wisdom and work of several generations of FAW employees, Hongqi is a witness of the developing course of China's national automotive industry, Hongqi used to be the specific limousine to welcome the head of state at many important diplomatic occasions. The former President Richard Nixon of the United State once took the ride of Hongqi during his ice-breaking visit to China in 1972. 

"FAW employees never forget their historical mission to develop home-grown cars and upgrade Hongqi models," said Xu Jianyi, chairman of FAW Group, "FAW will specifically invest a total of 10.5 billion yuan for the boost of R&D capability for the Honqi series cars in the Twelfth Five-year Plan period (2011-2015)."
